Joos van den Dool, founder of VisioninForm, is a project manager and moderator with background in architecture and urban planning. He professionally designs, supports, implements and moderates co-creative processes for teams and organizations. With his enthusiasm, creativity and hands-on mentality, he is able to connect and stimulate people to put visions into reality.
Among his clients are local and international organisations in the fields of health, spatial planning, culture and education. Joos is convinced that an integral approach and innovative participation forms of stakeholders are the key to sustainability. His passion, power and talents lie in the connection of design and process, of people and their environment, of abstract values and concrete possibilities.
Joos grew up in the Netherlands and graduated in 2004 in architecture and urban planning at Ghent University (Belgium). He wrote his master's thesis on the work of the French architect and urban planner Michel Écochard in the Middle East and Africa (abstract). During his studies, Joos worked for the sustainable Triodos Bank in the Netherlands and was Teaching Assistant at Columbia University (Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation, New York-Paris Programme) in Paris (France).
From 2006 until 2010 Joos was urban planning consultant at BVR adviseurs in Rotterdam (Netherlands). He advised communal, regional and national government as well as private investors and NGO’s on complex questions about spatial planning and development. Working as a member of the multidisciplinary team AtelierOverijssel, an independent laboratory for spatial quality, he organised events and excursions for professionals and executives focusing on raising consciousness for design quality in urban planning.
Since 2010 Joos works freelance for tVisionautik Akademie and since 2013 he was chair of IPTL.
Since 2014 Joos is responsible for the programme development of the Bundesstiftung Baukultur. He organizes large national Workshops on Baukultur and the international Convention on Baukultur of 2014 and 2016.
Besides his activities with VisioninForm he is founder of the carsharing network StadtTeilAuto, chair of Stadtteilnetzwerk Potsdam-West and chair of the culture and integration organisation SinneWerk in Berlin and a passionate argentinian tango dancer.
Joos is married with Kerstin Julia van den Dool and father of Alma (*2010), Nourian (*2012) and Elias (*2014).
Joos is fluent in Dutch, English, French and German.
